The overall goals of this teacher induction program are to provide teachers with the skills to teach students effectively to ensure student achievement, provide mentorship and ongoing support, and retain quality, professionally equipped teachers in the Christian schools.

About The Event

The Teacher Induction: Essential Elements of Instruction (EEI) course is a 54-hour program designed to extend over the course of an entire school year which consists of six full day in-service training experiences interspersed with classroom observations by trained cognitive coaches, and othe assignments.  Branching Out's induction program serves not only first year teachers, but any school teacher who has not previously been through this valuable training.

Day One Topics (July 20): Overview of Essential Elements & Classroom Responsibilities, Active Participation

Day Two Topics (July 21): Anticipatory Set, Motivating Students, Objectives

Day Three Topics (July 22): First Days of School: Classroom Management, Procedures & Routines

Day Four Topics (Sept. 7): Closure, Task Analysis, 4 Part Objective, Bloom's Taxonomy, Discipline in the Christian School

Day Five Topics (Nov. 16): Lesson Design, Retention, The Joy of Teaching

Day Six Topics (Mar. 8): Monitor & Adjust Instruction, Diagnostic-Prescriptive Teaching, Hit the Reset Button
